Summer Fun

What better way to burn off some 3 year old energy and cool down...SPRINKLERS!
Katherine brought James and Luke over to play (ok..well Luke mainly slept...as all 2 month olds do) and Reese and James has a blast!
Hadley did not get in the sprinklers, but she got a good seat to watch all of the action! Then later in the week, we ventured over to the zoo...and Reese finally got to ride a camel...she has been wanting to for awhile now.
Hey guys...are you watching?

HMMM...I wonder if mom would let me bring him home?

**New post below**

A PEA PROTEST

Most of the time, when it is time to eat...this is the expression on Hadley's face.
Sometimes we can't see her expressions because she is too busy finding dropped pieces of food in her bid (kiddopotamus bib...best invention ever!)
Other times we can't see her expressions because her entire fist (yes the whole thing) is in her mouth!
But, in general, this little one loves to eat...almost anything!
OH...except...Peas! She began where she would not eat them...then she would eat them just a few...and very slowly! But on this night...it was a PEA PROTEST. The second I put then in front of her cried and then did this (as if to say...try and get them in)!
This was the face of a whiny baby who refuses to eat peas...little does she know...they will continue to show their face!

These girls are lucky!

They have this guy

As their daddy...and the best daddy ever!
I seriously do love watching these girls with their daddy...and I am so grateful that I am married to this man! We had a great father's day weekend, though I did not do a good job of taking pictures!!! (so mad at myself) I did get a few of Reese taking a BIG JUMP at the pool with Jason this weekend!

First time off of the diving board...all by herself!
The child has no fear...of course when you are jumping and you know your daddy is there to get you it is a secure feeling. But seriously she would jump and then come up to surface on her own, then she and Jason would swim to the side!
On a final note about Father's Day...Never under any circumstances is it a good idea to tell your 3 year old what you got Daddy for Father's Day...because as I was explaining why we can't tell Daddy until Sunday, I heard..."Mommy, I am going to tell!" And tell she did!

Last few days at the beach

Our vacation has come to an end...but we enjoyed every minute of it. We are blessed to have family who loves on us by loving on our girls. Jonathan, Caitlin and Ashley played hide and seek with Reese every day...and my mom played and took care of both Reese and Hadley for us throughout the week! Thank you for an incredible week family! It is also fun to look back at last year here and here and see how much Reese has changed...and to see our sweet Hadley now!

Reese and Daddy swimming in the ocean for the last time

Mommy with Hadley in the Ocean...it was crystal clear...for now at least!Another great thing about family beach trips...a date night without having to pay a babysitter! Seriously, it was so nice to go out for a few hours while my mom and sister took care of the girls...thank you Mom and Ashley!

Last swim at this pool...showing off on Daddy's shoulders!

Hadley enjoying the pool with her BebeWe went over to Rosemary beach for some pictures...these two were so funny together. Our little family

The whole group together...thanks to our new friend who took these pictures for us
A shot of the beautiful Santa Rosa Beach on our last day...we did not have any oil while we were there...and the beaches and water were amazing. It does make me sad thinking that very soon this beach may not look like this!

More sunny days...

The beach continued to be an incredible trip for us. Both Reese and Hadley absolutely love the pool, the ocean and the sand....and Reese became more and more adventurous each day!

New favorite nighttime activity...trying to catch crabs here with Caitlin and Uncle Jonathan

Squeezing daddy soooo tight after eating dinner at The Red Bar...our favorite!

Mommy and Hadley...a little sweaty waiting to eat dinner (the only downside to Red Bar is that there is pretty much always a good wait)Reese holding a little baby lizard that she caught all by herself...he was soo tiny...and funny because he kept playing dead and then he would try to run away! (Don't worry no lizards were harmed this week...just loved on and put back)
Moving around on the sand...and getting some mouthfuls along the way
Daddy dug this hole for Reese to fill up with water!

Hadley digging her own play areaReese's graceful jumps into the pool...she has worked back up to where she was last year...and even better! She would swim from the steps almost to the middle of the pool to Jason or me without her vest...and she would jump off the side and swim to us too!

Fun in the Sun

AHHH...if only we could live at the beach... (and by live I mean vacation style...no working)

Family shot

All the girls...wow Jonathan and Jason are outnumbered!
The girls in the trailer we pulled behind our bikes for some fun

(notice the little clip-on fan...fantastic purchase at CVS...great for strollers too!)

Ashley with the girls (and yes Hadley is in her PJ's but it's the beach people!)

Jonathan and Hadley
(she may be grinning, but I am pretty sure Hadley is not going to give you that ball Uncle J) Reese riding her new toy...Sealy (Jonathan and Caitlin pointed out how Reese adds a "y" to everything she names...true)!
Reese has been waiting for weeks to be buried in the sand...she got her wish!

Little Miss Hadley sun zapped after chewing on her plastic grapes for an hour!We have spent many hours at the pool...Reese is back to her dare-devil swimming ways!

MORE TO COME....GET EXCITED!

A few firsts...

Hadley's first steps on sand...she loves it! Reese jumping around in the sand for the first time this summer!

Hadley eating sand for the first time...and for those of you who told me it would only take one time...well you were wrong! She ate some...and some more...and some more...she likes it!Running a fast as she can!Reese's first baby crab...she held it but it got away!

10 Months

10 Months has flown by for this peanut! She turned 10 months yesterday and seriously I feel like she should only be about 6 months!Hadley is still all full of smiles...and people comment on it all the time! She is for sure very laid back and goes with the flow. She still adores her big sister and laughs at her every day! Crawling is not her thing...she prefers to inch and spin around on the floor. She officially has 5 teeth now and still babbles up a storm! Dadda, Mamma, baba (bottle), and momo (more) are her favorites! She still loves her toes...here is an upclose of the tongue and toe!The one thing that makes her laugh every time...saying GOOO Georgia Bulldogs....(much to her daddy's dismay)!
