I remember so vividly when we had Reese and she was 6 months old and a family at our church had their son starting kindergarten...it seemed like that would be forever...but as cliche as it is...they GROW UP FAST! Today was Reese's first day of kindergarten! She is going to an amazing school...I know totally it was the best choice for her...it is Monday- Friday, just half day, 9-1. I was nervous because she was moving schools and not going where most of her friends were...but she did not even bat an eye when we walked it! Her teachers seem amazing and on our night to meet them...it was evident that they were on top of things and that all of things Reese learns will be rooted in the Truths from the Bible! Here is a look back at school for Reese and Hadley!
It was also a big day for Miss thing here! Hadley started 3 year old preschool, at the same school where Reese is. Surprisingly she was a little nervous walking in...totally a role reversal for these two today. She has two very sweet teachers and one of them is actually one of my sorority sisters...such a surprise and blessing!
When I picked them up...Hadley began to rattle off her friends names...first and last!!! This child's memory never ceases to amaze me!
We are so cute...oh and Reese is still 5! (actually 5 1/2 she will tell you)
The love between theses two is so sweet...Bryn and Mommy had a great day just us two...what?!
Here we are walking to their classrooms...daddy went into work late so he could be at the big day!
The excitement for Kindergarten has been slowly building all summer...but this treat made it so great! This weekend Reese and I went out to our mailbox only to find a huge blowup lollipop with a note from her teachers saying how "sweet" this year will be and how excited they are to have her!
Yesterday, we were all invited for a 30 minute meet the teacher, where one of Reese's teachers read The Night before Kindergarten, a book we have read quite a bit this summer. It was a fun time for Reese to meet Mrs. Cami and Mrs. Jenny and see her new classroom!
Jason and I went last week to meet the girls teachers and hear what they would be doing and learning. Reese's teachers sent home this little treat for her...complete with a bag full of candy runts...despite my beliefs on processed sugar...I ate a lot few. I love the verse on this... "O taste and see that the Lord is good..." Psalm 34:8
Proud parents and their girls...and Minnie...she sneaks into our pictures from time to time!
